Dato’ Muhamad Fasir is a self-made businessman and the co-founder of FASEC. He began his career in 1979 as a lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying in MARA Institute of Technology (ITM). After serving 5 years as a lecturer in ITM, he left and started his own quantity surveying firm, Gabungan Jurukur Bahan, with a partner.

In 1985, he was involved in the successful rescue and takeover of Terengganu Development Management Berhad (TDM), a public listed company involved in the oil palm plantation, transportation, leasing and trading business. He was subsequently appointed as an Executive Director in TDM.

In 1988, he successfully implemented the corporate restructuring of San Holdings Berhad (SAN), involving Koko Malaysia Sdn Bhd. SAN was subsequently renamed FA Peninsular Berhad (FAP) and requoted on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 1990. In 1993, FAP started its own stock broking firm, FA Securities Sdn Bhd (FASEC) in Kuala Terengganu. Dato’ Muhamad Fasir holds a 49 percent stake in FASEC as co-founder. He held the position of Managing Director in FAS until his resignation in 25 April 2002.

Dato’ Muhamad Fasri obtained a Diploma in Building Economics from ITM in 1973. Upon graduation, he was awarded a young tutor scholarship by ITM to further his education in the United Kingdom. Subsequently, he graduated with a BSc in Quantity Surveying from Trinity College, University of Dublin. Dato’ Muhamad Fasri also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Economics from the College of Technology, Dublin.

Isa bin Mustapa was appointed as Director on 28 October 1992. Isa spent most of his career in the stock broking industry and is an experienced licensed dealer. He began his career as Marketing Officerwith MARA Unit Trust Bhd and subsequently as Share Registration Officer with Dunlop Malaysia Bhd. Prior to joining FAS, he was a Director with R&I Securities Sdn Bhd (now known as AA Anthony Sdn Bhd).

Under his able leadership FASEC controlled a substantial portion of the retail trade in Terengganu. His knowledge of investment trends of FASEC’s present clients is invaluable in expanding the company’s market share.

Isa completed his secretarial source at the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrator and is a Licensed Dealer’s Representative.

Rosni was appointed as Director on 25 April 2000. Rosni began her career in 1989 as an Audit Assistant with Ernst & Young, an audit firm based in Kuala Lumpur. She joined FAS in 1993 as Finance and Administration Manager.

Rosni graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University Utara Malaysia. She also holds a Diploma in Accounting from MARA Institute of Technology. Rosni is a Chartered Accountant and has been a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants since 18 December 1992.

Her operational knowledge and expertise in control procedures has contributed to FASEC’s risk management abilities.


( Non-Executive Director )

Ismail was appointed as Director on 23 August 2004. Ismail began his career in banking in 1977. His various experiences in the financial sector saw him lead to Syariah based stock booking firms until 2004. Ismail is a specialist in Islamic Finance with the strong specialization in Islamic Capital Market.

Ismail graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University Malaya. He expanded his knowledge and his chosen expertise by undergoing specialized Islamic Finance courses in Egypt and Middle East.
